TL;DR

  • In addition to its new user interface on Android, Google Gemini will receive new in-app animations and two new voices.
  • Both changes are already rolling out and should be available to all users soon.
  • The new voices appear to be limited to the United States at this time.

Additionally, the Gemini app also includes two new voices for users to choose from: Flare and Glow. These voices join the ten existing voices already available in the Gemini setup.

While the new animation appears on my phone, I still don’t have access to the new voices. New voices are likely limited to the United States at this time. It’s also possible that the changes are rolling out slowly and may reach more users over time.

Are the new Gemini voices available to you?

These changes come just ahead of the Google I/O 2026 keynote that is scheduled for today. At the event we expect to hear a lot more about Gemini, including a new version of AI. Google already showed off Gemini Intelligence at The Android Show last week, but I might also have more to share in today’s keynote.
