Google Home and Nest community forum gets a ‘cut’

last monthGoogle said it was redesigning the ‘Home & Nest Community’ and now we know what it looks like.

In 2021googlenestcommunity.com was introduced to replace support.google.com/googlenest/community. Google moved from its internal system to a third-party forum service (which Stadia also used).

The company has now returned to support.google.com/googlenest/communityand support articles never leave Google’s domain.

In addition to the home page, there are currently ten product-specific help forums:

  • Thermostats
  • Cameras and doorbells
  • Speakers and screens
  • Wi-Fi
  • Locks and Alarms
  • Streamers
  • Gemini for the home
  • Applications and automations
  • Account and subscriptions
  • Smart home for developers

In making the changeGoogle touts the “new look” of the newly updated community. This was done to “help us streamline discussions, better organize our content, and reduce spam to ensure you only see the most useful and relevant discussions.”

Being able to use your existing Google account is a plus, as existing Nest community accounts will disappear. The old set of insignia, rank and status will not transfer.

As a reminder, information and posts on the old site will be deleted on June 30, 2026.

The last FAQ item suggests that there will be Google Home app integrations in the future.

Ask: Will the Google Home and Nest community be more integrated with the Google Home app?

Answer: This initial release focuses on core community features, with deeper app integrations planned for later!

The same will happen to the Fitbit community on May 19.
