Google Wallet adds Live Update for flight tracking

As previously teasedGoogle Wallet for Android now offers live updates to keep track of your current flight.

If you add your boarding pass to Google Wallet, you’ll already receive notifications with updates, such as boarding time changes. Persistent notification also provides quick access to the QR code on the door. Wallet also uses its Gmail integration to remind you to register.

Google Wallet now shows a live update on Android 16+. It is activated shortly before takeoff. The status bar icon is the Wallet logo, and Google shows the estimated time of arrival and airline. The progress bar, which appears on the always-on display and the lock screen, shows the duration of the flight and uses an airplane icon.

Tapping it will take you to the usual tickets page, which has a link to Google Flights at the bottom that opens as a result of a web search.

Google first mentioned that this feature would arrive in October 2025. Train rides and other “events” should also be supported.

This Live Updates support in Wallet is in addition to Google Maps navigation.
