Google Wallet is starting to widely roll out a major app redesign on Android that improves the passes experience.
Update 5/11– This redesign is rolling out to more people today, but it’s not widely available yet. Try force stopping Google Wallet from the app information.
Original 4/23– The top of the app home page does not change. However, everything below the credit and debit card carousel is new.
Swipes no longer span the entire width of the screen. Instead, you’ll see two per row, with cards with a themed background that better distinguishes each one.
In addition to the ability to reorder (by holding and dragging), you can now control which passes appear on the home page.
Google Wallet has replaced the large ‘plus’ FAB (floating action button) in the bottom right corner with a centered split button variant. The plus sign on the right takes you to the same “Add to Wallet” screen as before.
“See more” opens a new page that first allows you to “Search your wallet” for transactions, payment methods and loyalty cards in one big finally. There are sections for Transactions and Passes, and recent ones are displayed.
By tapping “Manage Passes at Home” you’ll be able to highlight or delete what’s showing up.
This Google Wallet redesign appears on several devices we reviewed today, but is still in the process of being rolled out. Make sure you have updated to the latest versions of Google Wallet and Google Play services (stable 26.15.33).
