Honor wants to bring its Android phones to Canada

According to a new report, Honor is trying to bring its Android phones to Canada, or at least trying to find out if it can.

Shortly after the United States banned Huawei, Canada continued. In the years since, Huawei has managed to rebuild a thriving smartphone business in China, while its sub-brand Honor has become its own company that continues to build a market both in China and the rest of the world. But while Honor has been successful in Europe: it grew 60% year-on-year in the first quarter. according to recent data – and other regions, North America has not been in the conversation.

With the convergence of many different things happening around the world, they said, “Maybe now is the time to consider Canada as one of our next markets.” Honor was in Davos and was impressed: she had an impact. So if you look at an innovation economy with stability, Canada is starting to look pretty favorable.

Honor is apparently looking to sell its phones through carriers and “mall kiosks” in Canada, amid other channels and “deeper industry commitment.”

It’s still early, but it would be a big change for Honor. While the brand is easily found in the EU and UK markets, there is simply nothing in North America. At a time when the Android market in North America (the US in particular) is more consolidated than everHonor could bring some interesting competition. Perhaps entering the Canadian market could open other doors…
