Magnetic accessories are designed for MagSafe, Qi2 and pixel capture ecosystems. All phones that support these features also support wireless charging, and there is a general understanding that magnetism most benefits those who want magnetic wireless charging accessories.
As useful as a magnetic wireless charger is, it’s not the only reason to want native magnetic support on a smartphone. I frequently add magnetic ring adapters to devices that don’t support wireless charging at all, and it’s been a game-changer.
What can I say? I am attracted to magnets.
I recently installed a magnetic ring sticker on an Honor Play 10 clear case to use the Play 10 with the ESR Qi2 Wireless Car Charger on my trip. There is no point in changing the wireless car charger for just one phone.

While it doesn’t charge my phone, I can now mount my non-Qi2 device to the magnetic car charger to use as a stand. And when I use Qi2 devices like my Pixel 10I get wireless charging privileges. No harm, no foul.
There are many MagSafe Accessories for Androidas well as Qi2 or Pixelsnap accessories that are not based on charges. In fact, you can even use some charging accessories, as long as they also have wired charging.
If you have a magnetic power bank that supports wireless charging, it definitely has at least one USB-C input/output port. Although you can’t wirelessly charge a device that doesn’t have the capability, you can definitely mount the power bank on the back of said phone and plug in the cable to recharge the battery.
Placing a magnetic power bank on the back of a phone that can’t be charged wirelessly has its advantages. You won’t forget that your phone is charging and drop the power bank on the ground. And if your power bank has a stand, you can hold your device.
It is also much easier to operate a phone while connected to a power bank if the power bank is securely attached to the back.
Any other fun magnetic accessory can easily be used with a phone with non-wireless charging once you add a magnetic ring. Anything from magnetic wallets and stands to phone holders and suction cups will be available for use.
If you have a wireless charging stand, unplug it and use it as a stand to hold your phone. In a home, it is very likely that some residents have a MagSafe iPhone, some use Qi2 Android phones like the Pixel 10, and some sports devices that do not have any magnetic support.
The trick is to buy the right magnetic accessories.
Having a mixed variety of devices at home does not require purchasing different accessories for different devices. If anything, you should strive to buy something that works for everyone. For example, my partner has two phones, neither of which have native magnetic support or wireless charging support. In the meantime, I have a combination of several devices that can do one or both.
I have placed magnetic rings on all the phones in the house. In this way, we can freely use each other’s magnetic accessories. Comfort is liberating. Any of us can use the magnetic car charger as a holder while driving. If I carry a Qi2 power bank, I make sure to bring one with a USB-C cable so we can both use it.
When I’m bored of holding my phone, we swap it for a while. And when one of us needs to use a phone holder or stand, we won’t have to worry about a thing. All the ones we have at home are magnetic, so we can use them both. When we go on vacation, we only bring a MagSafe phone holder to watch movies or YouTube.
Therefore, it doesn’t matter whether your phone can charge wirelessly or not. Just add a magnetic ring and invest in the right kind of accessories to enjoy the same level of comfort as I do!
