iOS 27 is compatible with iPhone models dating back to the iPhone 11. In fact, Apple even says that some of its performance metrics are based on tests conducted with the iPhone 11 line.
For example, Apple says that apps launch up to 30% faster with iOS 27. This statistic is based on testing conducted by Apple on the iPhone 11 Pro Max, comparing app launch speeds between a model running iOS 26.4.2 and another running iOS 27.
This is all very impressive, especially for people who use “older” iPhone models. Apple has fixed enough bugs and improved performance so much that I think most iPhone users will notice a big improvement when they install iOS 27 later this year. It’s particularly impressive considering that Apple made all of these performance improvements while also implementing a comprehensive overhaul of Siri.
iOS 27 is currently available for developers and public beta users. It will be released to everyone later this fall.
