To celebrate America’s 250th birthday, a gigantic time capsule has been buried with numerous items from all states to commemorate our current era, one of them being an iPhone 17 Pro Max in Cosmic Orange. The time capsule will open in the year 2276 to mark the 500th anniversary of the United States.
It remains to be seen if this iPhone will actually work once the 500th anniversary hits in 2276. As many have pointed out, it’s incredibly likely that the battery will die before then.
However, if it somehow works, the phone includes some “digital artifacts” that people will be able to refer to in the Notes app by then.
The iPhone is just under 20 years old, so it’s hard to imagine what the technology will be like in another 250 years. For all we know, we could have moved beyond physical devices and gone for neural implants, or something that is not even conceivable today.
