TL;DR
- The FCC has approved the sale of four new Google devices in the US.
- We believe these devices are different configurations of the yet unannounced Pixel Watch 5.
- We expect an official Pixel Watch 5 announcement in August.
The Pixel Watch 5 hasn’t been officially announced yet, but we’ve seen it appear in a couple of notable places, including, interestingly, in the ocean off the Caribbean island of Saint Martin. Now, however, it looks like the upcoming wearable has been spotted in a more expected location.
FCC documentation shows that four new Google devices have been authorized for sale in the US. None of the documents use the name. pixel clock In all but four FCC listings, each uses model numbers that we saw appear in India’s BIS database. earlier this month: G0F3Y, G1XJ6, G25QDand GFW3R. We expect these model numbers to represent four separate Pixel Watch 5 models – two sizes, each available with and without LTE connectivity.
The listings don’t confirm any interesting details about the upcoming wearable, but FCC certification is a key step for any new wireless device to hit the market in the US. Documents show that Google applied for authorization in April. With the Pixel Watch 5 launching in a matter of weeks, all that’s left now is for Google to announce it.
We’re still waiting to hear details about the Pixel Watch 5, as well as the Pixel 11 series. Rumors point to Google’s new Tensor G6 chipset brings some significant performance improvements, but we still don’t have any official information about the next generation of phones and watches from Google.
We shouldn’t have to wait much longer: For the past few years, Google has held events to launch Pixel-branded hardware during the month of August. That will probably be the case this year as well.
