Lego “Ideas” line—based on user-created and fan-supported design suggestions—is always in review cycles, with many sets confirmed but still in progress. the long tail to really get it done. So it’s perhaps not too surprising that Lego’s latest review has only added a few more to that list… especially since the last review period broke a huge record for ideas submitted.
Lego today confirmed the results of the second wave of 2025 submission reviews for Lego Ideas (out of three total for the year), the sequel to the largest review period ever recorded for the line since it began as Lego CUUSOO in 2008. A whopping 146 candidates qualified for the review period after the platform and several ideas began going viral on social media during the submission process, more than double the last record for most candidates of just 71, which occurred in 2023.
It’s a bit surprising then, with so many ideas to review, Lego only decided to block 3 of the 146 from becoming official sets: Edward Scissorhands show by Castor-Troy Ideas Userto National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation save twrt0esand an unlicensed playing field, inspired by the canal houses of Amsterdam, by Brick Master_85. As always, the designs below will be modified in the process of becoming official sets, so don’t take these images as a guaranteed look at the final product.
While those were the only 3 to come out of this round of reviews, they weren’t the only sets confirmed this time. Lego also announced a fourth set, drawn from what the brickmaker calls the “Parking Lot,” a list of Ideas projects that Lego was potentially interested in pursuing but needed more time outside the review period to do so. That set was That haDiorama based on Ernest Hemingway’s 1952 novella. The old man and the seawhich was actually added to the batch in the previous wave of revisions from early 2025. Replacing it in the last round’s batch was a Lego artwork. brought to you by DallasBricksinspired by the famous 1932 photograph known as “Lunch on the Top of a Skyscraper,” which shows workers having lunch during the construction of the Empire State Building.
Eliminating 142 presentations in one go may seem like a lot, but it’s clear that Lego can’t add up. also largely to your accumulation of confirmed Idea sets as the review cycle progresses. As of this writing, there are still 13 outfits (with another 3 sitting in the parking lot) already confirmed ahead of today’s additions, including outfits inspired by godzilla, eastern time, rangerand more.
The third and final set of 2025 submissions, 75 in total, will be reviewed to potentially become sets later this year (you can see the list of eligible candidates here), probably adding even more to the backlog of Ideas.
