Grab and move window controls
The Grab and Move utility eliminates the need to point at the title bar or edges of a window to move or resize it. By holding down the Alt key and left-clicking anywhere on a window, you can drag it from that location. Holding down the Alt key and right-clicking allows you to resize the window from the point where the cursor is placed.
This feature fixes common problems, especially on large monitors where the title bars may be far from the cursor, or on windows that have been moved partially off the screen and cannot be easily grabbed by their edges.
Power Display Monitor Controls
Power Display features a system tray utility that allows users to adjust monitor settings without relying on physical buttons on the screen. Available options depend on the monitor’s capabilities, but typically include brightness, contrast, volume, and color profile.
Users can save multiple settings as named profiles and quickly switch between them with a single click. This makes it easy to adapt your display settings to different lighting conditions, such as a bright daytime profile or a dimmer nighttime environment.
Improvements to existing PowerToys
PowerToys 0.99 introduces updates to several existing utilities. The Dock now includes a compact mode that hides subtitles for a cleaner look, and its pinning behavior has been revised to allow users to choose where a pinned command appears.
Keyboard Manager adds the ability to manually edit recorded key mappings via drop-down menus and introduces a Disabled action to disable specific keys or shortcuts.
ZoomIt now supports scrolling screenshots, making it easier to capture content that extends beyond the visible screen. Meanwhile, Image Resizer has been migrated from WPF to WinUI 3 to better fit the visual style of the rest of the PowerToys interface.
