Microsoft releases Windows 11 emergency update KB5121767 to address unexpected shutdowns and overheating on certain Dell PCs

Last week, Microsoft blocked the release of the latest Windows 11 Patch Tuesday update for several Dell PCs after it was reported that the update crashed with Intel’s IPF driver, causing a series of issues including unexpected shutdowns, overheating, and slow performance.

The company said it was working quickly to fix these issues on the limited number of Dell PCs that were affected and has emergency out-of-band update KB5121767 now released which fixes the issue for Windows 11 version 24H2 and Windows 11 25H2.
