This week, Microsoft introduced a massive change to its Xbox Game Pass Ultimate service which reduced its price from $29.99/month to $22.99/month effective immediately, making the premium tier of Xbox Game Pass $7 more affordable than after signing infamously raised its price by up to 50% last year. The measure has been widely praised by xbox and PC gamers everywhere, although it wasn’t free.
The price drop was accompanied by the news that new Obligations The games will no longer be available on Game Pass at launch and will instead come to the program a year after their release. The idea here is to make Game Pass more affordable while also trying to prevent cannibalizing Call of Duty sales as it has done with recent releaseswhich most fans seem to be perfectly fine with.

It is not clear which games will arrive Xbox Game Pass or how many of them are in the pipeline right now, although there is a long list of potential candidates; Currently, 15 Call of Duty entries are absent from the service, including the following:

- Call of Duty: Ghosts (2013)
- Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (2014)
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 (2015)
- Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (2016)
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 (2018)
- Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (2020)
- Call of Duty: Vanguard (2021)
Of these, it would be great to see at least some of the most popular games in Call of Duty history (Modern Warfare, World at War, Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops, Black Ops 2, and Ghosts) come to Game Pass. However, in an ideal world, we would see the entire franchise in the show’s catalog.
