Minecraft Dungeons 2 has been leaked onlinecourtesy of Nintendo. The game appeared on the Nintendo eShop yesterday, revealing its release date, price, new details and a selection of new images.
It’s a shame these details were revealed earlier than likely planned for Xbox’s upcoming presentation at June 7, 2026. Still, the information itself is encouraging, including a September 29, 2026 release date and, perhaps most surprising, a Price: $29.99. Personally, I think it’s a pretty fair price for what already looks like a fun game.
Curiously, September is already shaping up to be a full month. Whether it’s Resonant control, compatible with Xbox Play Anywhereor PlayStation’s Wolverine, there will be plenty to play. Publishers are likely looking to get out of the way ahead of the impending release of GTA 6 in November, which I’m sure will steal the show when it launches.
However, back to Minecraft Dungeons 2. The game had already been leaked not long ago.with details including its codename, Project Spidewood. Those leaks came in part from X0X_LEAK on X (formerly Twitter), who shared details about parts of the game and what to expect.
I’m quite surprised that we didn’t get more information about Minecraft Dungeons 2 during the recent Minecraft Live event, which unfortunately only gave us a two minute video detailing the game. That trailer revealed an entirely new story, new environments, and a mysterious new portal called the Deep Dark Portal, which appears to house a new boss.
The game also features couch co-op, something I wish more games included these days. Unfortunately, that’s all we know for now. You can brave the internet and look up what else was revealed via the Nintendo eShop listing, but now that the page is closed, I can’t imagine Microsoft will be too pleased with what was revealed ahead of the Xbox Showcase.
