Nada has officially ended software support for its original phone (1) following a latest software update.
In a post this week, Nothing confirmed that the July 2026 update marks the end of the phone’s lifecycle (1), with software updates completed. Nothing promised three major Android updates and four years of security updates.
The phone (1) debuted with Android 12, finally getting Android 15 in early 2025.
The latest update is a final farewell, but a fairly inconsequential place to close the book, as it only offers the July 2026 security patch and a few miscellaneous bug fixes.

The phone (1) is where Nothing OS started. It introduced our first ideas around a cleaner, more intentional smartphone experience, from the Glyph interface and dot-matrix design language to a more focused version of Android. Over the years, Phone (1) has grown with Nothing OS and helped shape the software experience we continue to build today. While this marks the end of its software lifecycle, the device remains highly usable and an important part of Nothing’s history.
Nothing Phone (1) owners have some solid sequels to look forward to, with Phone (4a) Pro is one of our favorite launches so far in 2026 – although the company quietly stopped selling the 128GB model on Amazon in the US recently, despite still offering it via Best Buy and his own online store.
