Nothing has a new pair of wireless earbuds in the works to accompany its upcoming budget phone, the Telephone 4b. This week, Nothing officially mocked the 3rd earwhich will probably be the cheapest alternative to your Ear 3 wireless headphones.
We don’t know much based on the trailer, but if there’s one thing that’s clear, it’s that the Ear 3a will borrow a similar trick from cheaper wireless earbuds that have been released in the past: we’re getting an extra pop of color.
Just the tip.

Here’s the 3a (just the tip) in what looks like a vibrant pink color. while nothing Headphones A—the cheaper version of Nothing’s Headphone 1—also came in pink, this the pink is a little bolder. For context, the ear 3 It only came in black and white colorways, meaning the new colors will likely be exclusive to the A series.
Other than that, Nothing has offered very little information about what the Ear 3a will offer. One thing I don’t expect these wireless earbuds to have is the Super Mic feature on the Nothing Ear 3. In case you’re unfamiliar, that feature integrates a “talk” button into the Ear 3’s case that you can press to record AI-enhanced audio through built-in microphones. I wasn’t very impressed with the feature when I tested it when the Ear 3 was released, so if the Ear 3a doesn’t have Super Mic, I wouldn’t be too bothered.
The main question for me will be how the sound compares to the Ear 3. Hopefully it’s in the same ballpark. Even if is A little worse, however, the fun colors help a lot. Nothing’s bright yellow Ear A’s are still among my favorite pairs released by the company, not because they have the best sound or the best ANC, but because both are good enough and come together with a really fun and unique look. I still love the little pillbox charging case.
We’ll see; The Nothing Headphone A was a bit plain looking for my taste, especially compared to the earphone 1so maybe this is Nothing’s chance to recapture the unbeatable value of the Ear A. The Ear 3a is scheduled to be revealed on July 7 alongside the Phone 4b.
