OnePlus resumes latest OxygenOS update after boot issues


OnePlus has confirmed that it is resuming the rollout of select OxygenOS updates that were paused due to issues causing boot issues and more on several OnePlus devices.

Last week, OnePlus saying which was hitting pause on OxygenOS 16.0.7.XXX and 16.0.5.XXX updates. The problem, the brand said, was because “a small number of devices are experiencing abnormal reboot and boot issues.”

The cause of the problem was not mentioned at the time, but it seems that it was not a big problem.

As of May 18, OnePlus updated its forum post about the update pause, confirming that the rollout has resumed with the two OxygenOS updates affected once again for users. In another forum post In this regard, OnePlus says that no users were affected by the issue, as the update was stopped before it could cause any damage.

OnePlus explains:

During internal monitoring of the deployment, our teams identified abnormal behavior related to one of the builds that was not shipped externally to users. As a preventative measure, we proactively paused the rollout while a full investigation and validation process was completed, as we take device stability and user experience very seriously.

After thorough verification, we can confirm that there was no impact on the external user. Users who have already updated will be able to continue using their devices normally and with confidence.

Capturing the problems before The beginning of a wide rollout is the best-case scenario in matters like this, so it’s great to see that OnePlus was able to resolve the issues before they affected end users.
