The automation crustacean is crawling onto a mobile device near you.
By this I mean that OpenClaw, the free and open source AI agent that took the internet by storm earlier this year, is finally available as an app on iOS and Android. open claw announced the news on X on Tuesday.
On both platforms, you can link your phone to the OpenClaw Gateway, a sort of routing layer that connects your requests to AI agents and the tools and skills those agents draw on to get things done.
The bottom line is that you will be able to run your OpenClaw agents from your pocket and, if you have programmed them correctly, they can be very useful in getting things done. OpenClaw users have put it to work in everything from coding to meal planning, although some have reported undesirable results.
open claw went viral earlier this year around the launch of MoltBook, a social media site reportedly populated entirely by agents. In February, OpenClaw creator Peter Steinberger announced which had joined OpenAI.
It was later revealed that the MoltBook show had been partly the work of humans posing as agents. according to researcherseffective theater that also served as marketing for OpenClaw (whatever its credibility cost). Still, the trick pointed toward the future agent, which has continued to expand ever since. Agents are now integrated into the AI landscape and appear in more places per dayincluding your phone.
