Oppo Find N6 is the new king of foldables, but who is next?

Foldables have matured a lot since their debut less than a decade ago, and after last year’s big leap with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, there’s now a new king in the Oppo Find N6, but I’m not sure the market will follow suit quickly enough.

Foldable Gaming, from the beginning, has focused on addressing the shortcomings of each new generation. A thinner design here, a better screen there, and so on. As most of the major issues, especially thickness, have largely been resolved at this point, the focus was on two places this year.

Honor took the step first with a massive battery in the Magic V6while Oppo has More recently the Find N6 debuted with its surprising lack of fold on the screen. And now that you’ve moved on to the Find N6 as a daily driver, it’s even more impressive.

The screen fold has never In fact It bothered me and is still not a problem in my regular life. Galaxy Z Fold 7. But Oppo has achieved something that makes me question that stance, as it’s really nice to have a screen that is like that. for the most partfree of that central cleft.

Combine that with Oppo’s long-standing dominance in foldable hardware and another impressively large 6000mAh battery, and I think it’s safe to say that the Oppo Find N6 is, for now, the new king of foldable devices. The only thing that would possibly stop me from handing you that crown is the fact that, for the second year in a row, Oppo apparently has no desire to do so. Sell this phone to people who want to buy it.

Still, it is In fact good.

But that makes me wonder: will anyone follow up in time?

The “threat” looming in the foldable world right now is Apple, with the first foldable iPhone potentially just a few months away from launch. Apple has high standards for its releases, so you can expect that most of the hardware growing pains that Android brands have gone through in recent years won’t be a problem in Apple’s initial presentation. Furthermore, as our own Will Sattelberg pointed out in the last episode of Side loadingApple’s partnerships in the software department could easily Position this device as a better creator device simply by accessing the excellent library of professional-grade apps available on iPad. At the moment, that’s something Android phones can’t compete with.

It’s more important than ever for these Android brands to have the right hardware. Book-style foldables are better than ever, but Oppo has shown how much better they can be with today’s technology, and Samsung more than anyone. needs Play your cards right this year. Aside from the competition from Apple, the Razr Fold also looks incredibly promising with solid hardware and a much larger battery than what Samsung offers, which is easily the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s weakest link.
