An apparent bug in the Pixel Watch is causing the Find My Phone and ECG apps to not work or crash, leaving both functions useless for many.
There are many features preloaded on your Pixel Watch, but you won’t be able to use all of them every day. This is how mistakes can sometimes go unnoticed for a while. That’s what seems to be happening right now, as two major features are down at the moment.
We noticed on two of our Pixel Watch units, a 41mm Watch 3 and a 45mm Watch 4, that the “Find My Phone” feature is currently not operational. Activating the feature brings up the splash screen before it eventually fails, sending you back to the watch face. We are not alone there, as quite a few reports of the exact same experience have appeared in this Reddit thread.
Update 05/30: Google has fixed the issue that caused the “Find My Phone” feature to fail. It now works from quick settings and app drawer shortcuts as expected, as we’re seeing on both Pixel Watch units mentioned in this post.
As it is, the ECG app is still not working.
Can still Ask Gemini to find your phone.
While searching for more reports about this issue, we spotted another strange issue with the Pixel Watch app: the ECG app is also broken. Once again, Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Watch 4 owners are finding that the ECG app opens and then an error appears with a screen saying “Please reopen the app and try again.” We’re seeing the same issue on our Pixel Watch 4, but not on the aforementioned Pixel Watch 3.
The last major software update for the Pixel Watch was March 2026 updatebut these problems have arisen in the past a few days. So app updates are likely to blame, but we’re not sure which ones – the Pixel Watch Fitbit ECG app hasn’t been updated in months.
