After last week, it may seem like we’re in a jumbled world of cheap Apple products. For those reading this article about your shiny new, Low-end MacBook NeosI’ll try not to include anything that will unnecessarily consume your 8 GB of RAM. But according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, bargain shoppers had better not get used to Apple’s populism.
In his last columnGurman calls the Neo “an outlier, not the beginning of a broader movement toward lower-end devices.” And it says more “super-premium level” products are coming soon for Apple One Percenters.
Gurman is not sure if all of these devices will literally use the Apple “Ultra” branding as the Carplay Ultra and apple watch ultra, but it says, in summary, that at least they will have Ultra vibrations:
The MacBook Pro touch screen that Apple watchers already strongly suspicious What’s in the works won’t be a standard device, but rather a product on its own tier, and “will likely sit above the current M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro models, rather than replace them,” Gurman says.
The foldable iPhone “Maybe” it will be branded iPhone Ultra, but with an estimated price of $2,000, it will in any case be the Ultra-level device in the phone category, Gurman’s secret sources suggest.
There may or may not be an “AirPods Ultra” product launchbut there will be a premium-tier AirPods product above the Pro, and perhaps Max, tiers when Apple releases its AI-enhanced AirPods with otherworldly sound, according to Gurman. These, he says, will feature cameras that are not for taking photographs, but purely for sending information to the AI on board. Sounds like an imminent Ultra level privacy controversy me.
So if you’re filthy rich, enjoy the new toys that are apparently coming to your toy pile soon. Or, if you’re a regular MacBook Neo user like the rest of us, but you’re looking to blow your tax refund before your Wages begin to be garnished this year by the Department of Education. and the splurge window closes, it looks like these will be very luxurious ways to get rid of cash quickly.
