Samsung has officially confirmed its plans to start rolling out AirDrop support via Quick Share starting with the Galaxy S26 series this week.
Starting tomorrow, March 23, Samsung willpower will implement AirDrop over Quick Share support on the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra. This feature first debuted on Google Pixel 10 devices at the end of 2025, expanding to the Pixel 9 series in recent weeks.
Samsung explained in a note shared with 9to5Google and others that the launch begins on March 23 in Korea, and that the US launch will begin “later that week.” Other supported regions will include Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan.
“Additional Galaxy devices” will receive AirDrop support via Quick Share later, but there is no specific timeline.
Importantly, unlike the Pixel, AirDrop support on the Samsung Galaxy is No enabled by default. Rather, there is a separate setting in Quick Share settings for “Share with Apple devices.” On that page, Samsung explains that Galaxy users should tell iPhone users to make sure “Everyone” mode is enabled, and the same is needed on the Galaxy device if files are sent in the opposite direction.
It looks like Google’s implementation of AirDrop support via Quick Share could expand even further into the Android ecosystem soon, as Oppo also recently said that its devices would add support before the end of this month.
