Before going to bed, most people adjust the thermostat to maintain the ideal temperature for sleeping. While this works well, there are times during the night when you may feel too cold or too hot. Wouldn’t it be nice if your air conditioner could detect your sleeping patterns and automatically adjust to keep you comfortable all night? Samsung aims to do this with a new feature that connects your portable devices to your AC.

With Wearable Good Sleep, your air conditioner can adjust the temperature of your sleeping environment without manual adjustments. in a new promotional videoSamsung shows how the feature works.

While you’re wearing a Galaxy Watch or Ring, the device will detect when you’re going to sleep. When this happens, your portable device will send a signal to your air conditioning unit to activate WindFree Cooling. The air conditioner will then adjust its cooling performance to create the optimal environment based on your sleeping patterns.

To use Wearable Good Sleep, you will first need to download the SmartThings app on your wearable device. Then you must connect your air conditioner to your home Wi-Fi network. From there, you can set it up through the “Sleep well with smart devices” option in the Samsung Watch app. Alternatively, you can go to Settings > Mode & routine > Sleep.
