TL;DR
- Samsung will reportedly increase the price of several flagship phones in Greece starting next month.
- The price increases will apparently apply to the Galaxy S series, Galaxy Z7 foldable phones, and Galaxy FE phones.
- This could be a sign of things to come for Europe and the United States in general.
The entire consumer technology industry is dealing with price increases because AI companies are eating up RAM and storage. Samsung is no different, since the Galaxy S26 series received price increases in some markets. Now it appears the company is preparing for another round of price increases.
TechManiacs reports that Samsung will increase the price of several flagship phones in Greece starting the first week of June. The outlet says that these increases will apply to the Galaxy S series phones, Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy FE.
The website adds that all of these Galaxy phones will cost at least €100 (~$116) more, but says variants with more storage could see bigger price increases. Either way, this does not bode well for Europe in general. He Galaxy S26 series There have already been price increases in the region, ranging from 50 to 80 euros ($58 to $93) for basic storage models. So those who want Samsung’s latest flagships might have to pay even more. This will also negatively affect people who want a cost-effective Galaxy flagship in the market. Galaxy S25 FE.
We assume that this news does not bode well for the US market either. Samsung previously increased prices for the Galaxy S26 series by between $40 and $100 in the United States, with even bigger increases for higher storage variants. So, you might want to pick up the S26 phones or other recent Galaxy flagships sooner rather than later.
The news also comes ahead of Samsung’s upcoming Unpacked event, which takes place on July 22. The company is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 8 (Wide Fold), Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8 on that day. Don’t be surprised if these devices are more expensive as well.
However, Samsung is not the only smartphone brand forecasting price increases in 2026. OPPO, OnePlus, vivo and Xiaomi have all raised prices in several markets following the RAM crisis. So we don’t blame you if you want the AI bubble to burst.
