He Motorola Razr foldable has one of the The best cameras on a folding phone.thanks to its triple 50MP system and Pantone-validated sensors. However, it’s not just the sensors themselves that make cameras great, but also the software behind them.
Motorola has some cool tricks up its sleeve, like Action Shot for fast-moving objects and Signature Style for creating your own color science. But one cool new feature is Frame Match, which looks a bit like the Add Me feature in the Pixel 10.
You may not have heard of this feature, but with summer just around the corner and many people likely traveling for the World Cup, the feature is perfect for taking better vacation photos, especially if you want to be in them.
What is frame matching?
Frame Match is a feature that helps users frame a photo the way they like it. Take a photo to create an overlay of the scene you want to take a photo of. The idea is that you can then give the phone to a friend or a friendly stranger and they will see the overlay. You can then position yourself in the photo while the person taking it aligns the overlay with the scene in the viewfinder, making sure it’s framed exactly how you want while you’re in it.
As someone who often tries to capture the best angles of others but is often disappointed in the photos others take of me, I really love this idea.
Inspiration appears to have been taken from one of our favorite Pixel features. Add me It’s a cool feature that allows one person to take a group photo and then you can add it to the image by giving the phone to another person and making sure it’s aligned with the original photo. This way no one will be left out of the group photo.
In theory, you can probably do the same with Motorola’s Frame Match, although I haven’t tried this method yet.
For now, this feature is available on Motorola’s latest smartphones, including the Razr 2026 Series. It will probably come to other Motorola smartphones, such as its 2025 models, although it is not guaranteed.
How to use frame matching
1. Open the camera app.
2. Scroll through the carousel of camera modes until you reach Frame Matching.
3. Touch the shutter button. This will take an initial image that will act as an overlay.
4. Give the phone to someone else and move to the frame.
5. The person taking the photo can increase or decrease the opacity of the overlay using the slider at the bottom (you may have to tap the icon with the five squares to open it).
6. Once the images are aligned and you are positioned in the photo, the person taking the photo tap the shutter button to take the full photo.
The result should be a photo with you and at the angle you want, making sure to include the best parts of the scene in the image without having to direct the person taking the photo. Motorola does the work for you.
This feature sounds perfect if you’re traveling this summer.
I don’t expect to travel much this summer, but I can already think of some fun ideas that I would love to try if that were the case. Imagine that you are in Paris and you want to take a perspective photo with your finger on top of the Eiffel Tower. Or you’re in Italy and want a fun photo of you “holding” the Leaning Tower of Pisa. You know, typical tourist stuff.
Frame Match should make the process a little smoother, especially if you know exactly how you want the scene to be captured. After all, it’s your vacation and your memories, and your photos should turn out exactly how you want.
