T-Mobile will finally abandon 2G in August, so anyone who has it will have to make the transition

The company announced in your Network Evolution registry that is preparing to retire its 2G GSM network. T-Mobile says its old 2G network will shut down on August 3, 2026. With 2G preparing to go live, T-Mobile reminds customers that anyone still using that old technology will lose “call forwarding, call waiting, caller ID, or fixed dialing numbers through device settings” on Android and iOS.
