Last month, Marvel announced he Midnight universethat will put the classic characters in a more horror-tinged environment. Ahead of its September solicitations, the publisher shared the full covers for all three books and revealed one big change: They will all be released on October 7.
The line begins with what was previously announced. Midnight X-Men by Jonathan Hickman and Matteo Della Fonte, Benjamin Percy and Kev Walker Midnight Fantastic Four, and Midnight Spider-Man by Phillip Kennedy Johnson and ScieTronc. All three cover different types of horror: the X-Men The book is about mutants versus vampires. The fantastic four refers to Lovecraftian cosmic horror, and spider man will take Peter Parker on a body horror journey as a human/spider hybrid fighting Oscorp.
With the Ultimate universe already concluded (or close to it), Marvel is looking Midnight be your great new AU. To that end, not only will this trio of books be released simultaneously, but they are the publisher’s only new singles to be released that day. in your advertisementMarvel called this a “shocking and rare move that reflects the project’s unique scope and its potential to captivate readers.” Through these comics, it is hoped that the Midnight universe can take readers “to a terrifying new world where anything can happen.”
We will see the success it has when Midnight X-Men, Midnight Spider-Man, and fantastic midnight they will all hit stores on Wednesday, October 7.
