White Wolf returns in a big way this spring. The publisher behind the World of Darkness series of tabletop role-playing games, which includes Vampire: The Masquerade, Werewolf: the apocalypse, Hunter: The Reckoningand several others, has a great Vampire: The Masqueradesurprise in shape debuting at Gen Con 2026. The Royal Game Series Dimension 20 is currently running its first Vampire: The Masquerade Campaign. And now, Vampire: The Masquerade is officially crossing paths with Dungeons and Dragonsbringing a whole new class of vampires to the game.
Vampire: The Masquerade: Bound by Blood is an officially licensed supplement created by Ghostfire Gaming that brings a Kindred (vtmname of vampires) class for Dungeons and Dragons 5.5e. According to the product description in D&D beyond, Bound by blood is a “complete vampire class fueled by blood points, disciplines, and the beast that always claws within. Included in this release is a fast-paced Middle Ages adventure.”
Interactive paradoxowner of White Wolf, added more context in a post on his website: “This project was lovingly created by Ghostfire Gaming, the talented group of designers and D&D experts behind the excellent Grim Hollow. What they’ve created is a complete vampire class for 5th edition Vampire, with blood points, disciplines, the Beast, along with a Middle Ages adventure, and it’s a great way to bring a part of the World of Darkness to a tabletop that already lives in 5E D&D.”
Currently, there is no official class of vampires in Dungeons and Dragons. A character can be bitten by a vampire and be affected by vampirism, and there is a sort of half-vampire “Dhampir” bloodline available in the Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft sourcebook, but none of them are a fully developed character class. The Kindred class might be perfect for you if you’ve always wanted to play a vampire in D&Ddepending on how well Ghostfire integrates Vampire: The Masqueradethe mechanics of the very different Dungeons and Dragons system.
Vampire: The Masquerade: Bound by Blood Pre-orders open later this month and the product will launch on D&D Beyond sometime in July.
