The renewed WhatsApp chat list interface will be implemented on iOS

WhatsApp is launching a new interface that makes it easier for iPhone users to manage and quickly switch between their different chat lists. Here are the details.

New chat list interface now available

Recently, WhatsApp users on Android gained access to the new chat list interface, which allows them to keep only their most used chat lists visible while moving the others to a separate menu.

Now, with WhatsApp version 26.21.74 released yesterday on the App Store, the feature is also coming to iPhone users. Curiously, as WABetaInfo As noted, the feature appears to have arrived in the App Store and TestFlight versions of WhatsApp at the same time.

However, given the famous slow pace deployments (even for officially announced features), not all users may gain access at once.

WABetaInfo notes that since “WhatsApp has not announced an official timeline for a broader rollout, the feature should reach more users in the coming weeks.”

WhatsApp’s chat lists feature includes default filters (such as Favorites, Unread, Groups, and Communities) as well as custom lists that allow users to group specific chats according to their own preferences.

Until now, all of these lists appeared in a horizontal row at the top of the Chats tab, which could quickly become cluttered for users with too many custom lists. With the new interface, users can choose which lists remain visible there and which should be moved to the Filter secondary menu.

The update also includes a new default list: Drafts. As the name suggests, it contains all chats in which the user started composing a message, but left the chat without clearing the input field or sending the message.
