This summer is going to be full of events of all kinds. To try to help, Ticketmaster announced a partnership with Google Wallet to get more exclusive digital passes on Android.
Ticketmaster says that what have you worked on With Google Wallet there are “customizable passes” designed for “branded experiences” on Android. The passes are mobile tickets stored in Google Wallet, but Ticketmaster says this new direction offers a new sense of “brand presence.” Brands can offer custom hero images, tour artwork, and more.
If you attend a group’s stop on their national tour, you may see unique album art or images of sports games if you go to an NFL game.
Aside from the eye-catching images, these customizable passes are increasingly useful for you, the user. Ticketmaster says customers can add “up to 12 action links to each screening.” These links will direct visitors to crucial event areas. Links for parking, transportation, gate details, VIP upgrades, and food/drinks can be found on these passes. This eliminates the need for users to do additional research before heading out or before the event/game day.
The post states that tapping a parking link will open a map of the location, so you can plan where to go. Additionally, users can download the affiliate app of that event on their Android device through these links if they wish.
Digital passes continue to evolve
Digital passes and tickets have been an important aspect of Google Wallet for years. The company released a useful update to Wallet, one that would automatically display a pass you might need. “Context Consideration” is what drives this feature. Google claims that when the user approaches a location, such as a train station, the Wallet app will display their train ticket on the lock screen.
This eliminates the need for users to open their phones, navigate to the Wallet app, and select their appropriate pass. Google says this capability extends to airport gates, concert halls, and stores. Considering this new partnership with Ticketmaster, maybe something like that will happen with these customizable passes.
Android Central’s opinion
I like this association and this is coming from an athlete. Preparing my tickets for game day is an exciting feeling. I can imagine a White Sox or Bears ticket through Ticketmaster’s new passing approach. The commotion would be unreal. What’s more, these links would help with stadium navigation for parking in case something changes.
