Ukrainian police in Lviv arrested three people aged 19, 21 and 22 for hacking more than 610,000 Roblox accounts between October 2025 and January 2026. They reportedly sold these accounts for around $225,000 in total benefit. The arrests followed ten searches at selected locations, during which authorities confiscated $35,000 in cashalong with 37 mobile phones, 11 desktop computers, seven laptops, five tablets and four USB drives.
The operation was carried out jointly by Lviv regional prosecutors, cyber police and the Security Service of Ukraine.

The 19-year-old, identified as the group’s leader, recruited the other two members through gaming forums and coordinated the operation. The group distributed information-stealing malware disguised as a game-enhancing tool. Victims who installed the tool had their Roblox login credentials captured and sent to the attackers.
The stolen accounts were then sorted by value, considering inventory rarity, Robux balances, and the presence of limited edition items that are no longer available through normal means. The group classified at least 357 of the 610,000 compromised accounts as high value.
These accounts were sold through a Russian website and closed online communities.
Why Roblox Accounts Have Real Monetary Value and Possible Sentences
Roblox accounts have value through several factors, such as Robux balances, rare limited edition items that cannot be obtained again, years of in-game progress, unlocks, achievements, and access to premium content. The platform also allows account owners to create and sell assets through Roblox Studio, adding additional trading value to established accounts.
The three suspects face charges under Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for theft and Article 361 for unauthorized interference with computer systems. Both charges could result in a maximum sentence of up to 15 years in prison. The investigation continues as authorities continue their efforts to identify more accomplices and victims related to the group.
