On May 13, 2026, Games Workshop announced that Warhammer Skullsan annual online festival celebrating Warhammer video games, will host its 2026 broadcast on May 21, 2026, at 5:00 pm BST/6:00 pm CEST/12:00 pm EST/9:00 am PST (which is also its tenth anniversary).
This festival will include plenty of reveals and news updates for current and upcoming Warhammer video games, as well as offering discounts on Warhammer video games from various digital platforms from May 21 to 28, 2026.
Warhammer Skulls 2026 is planned to provide news updates on the following Warhammer titles:
Additionally, Games Workshop has announced that Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2A long-awaited sequel to a cult turn-based tactical game from 2018, it will be released on May 21, 2026.
This game will allow you to play as the technology-loving Adeptus Mechanicus faction or the immortal Necron legions as they fight for control of a world rich in resources and secrets.
On top of that, the Warhammer Skulls 2026 announcement trailer included a teaser for an update for the 4-player co-op shooter, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.
Windows Central’s opinion
The game I’m most looking forward to seeing during Warhammer Skulls 2026 is Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, a turn-based CRPG where you play as a space-based Rogue Trader exploring the Koronus Expanse for the Empire.
I love Rogue Trader for bringing Warhammer 40,000 to life in a CRPG format with its rich stories, intriguing characters, and gloriously fun and gory combat.
So what I’m hoping for during Warhammer Skulls 2026 is that we finally get to see gameplay footage of “The Infinite Museion,” Rogue Trader’s third upcoming DLC expansion, since we’ve only seen trailers so far.
Speaking of trailers, the trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide caught my attention. At first, it doesn’t appear to be anything special, as it shows the rejected player’s characters witnessing enemies being gunned down by an unknown entity shrouded in mist.
However, YouTube commenters are speculating that based on the glowing blue plasma fire and the Servo Skull drone buzzing around enemies, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide may receive another class DLC update, this time for a playable Skitarii Ranger.
For those who don’t know, the Skitarii Rangers are the hunter-killers of the Adeptus Mechanicus faction trained to hunt enemies using long-range galvanic rifles and sometimes with the help of a Servo Skull drone.
Given the fact that Rogue Trader’s third DLC expansion will include a new Tech-Priest Manipulus companion named Eogunn Februs, and that Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2 will release on the same day as Warhammer Skulls 2026, I’d say it seems increasingly likely that Darktide will announce a playable Adeptus Mechanicus-themed class during the event.
It wouldn’t be the first time that several Warhammer games have released similarly themed DLC updates around the same time. Last year, Darktide received a playable Adeptus Arbites class around the same launch period as Rogue Trader Lex Imperialis DLCwhich introduced an Arbites companion, Arbites Origin for the player character and much more.
Then again, we could get a completely different playable class for Darktide, or the update may not have any new playable classes at all. Either way, we’ll have to wait until May 21, 2026 to find out.
Other games I hope to see in Warhammer Skulls 2026 are Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 and Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy.
I loved the first Boltgun game. for being a glorious boomer-shooter version of Warhammer 40,000, so I can’t wait to find out when I can purge the heretics again as the bloodthirsty Malum Caedo while playing as new Sister of Battle character Nyra Veyrath in the sequel.
As for Dark Heresy, it looks like a fascinating follow-up to Rogue Trader with a darker story, an improved combat system, a complex investigation system, and more. So I can’t wait to see what else he plans to reveal and hopefully a release date for the full game.
