Waze, which has been in testing for several months, is starting to implement more traffic lights in navigation, but it is not yet available to everyone.
The ability to see traffic lights while navigating the map can be very useful, especially in environments where a traffic light appears on a long road. But while this has become a widely available part of google maps and Apple Maps, Waze has been left behind.
Waze was spotted testing traffic lights in December 2025 and, now, it seems to be appearing for more users. There have been intermittent reports of this for a couple of monthsand a Reddit thread this week shows several more users seeing the featuresome in the last two weeks, others for longer.
Here is a screenshot of the traffic lights in Waze. that you/yayoshorti sharedshowing streets in USA:

It’s unclear when Waze will open the floodgates on this one, but it’s certainly more available than it was a few months ago.
Don’t say anything in the comments if you see traffic lights on Waze!
