As WhatsApp continues its glacial pace rollout of the Liquid Glass look to the main Chats screen, Meta is also working to add the revamped look to the chat interface. Here are the details.
Liquid Glass is still largely unavailable in the official WhatsApp app
Last year, WhatsApp began testing an early adaptation of the Liquid Glass look, bringing it to the app’s bottom navigation bar and some interface elements of the Chats tab.
At the beginning of October, WABetaInfo reported that the new look was starting to roll out to some usersbut the rollout appears to have been slower than expected and most users still do not see the updated interface.
Even so, Meta has continued to expand the Liquid Glass redesign in the beta version of WhatsApp available in TestFlight. Earlier this year, for example, the voice message player It was updated with the new look. Now, WABetaInfo information that the company is working to bring it to the entire chat screen.
Despite not being available to beta testers yet, WABetaInfo managed to activate the new interface, which includes a floating chat bar and a semi-transparent navigation bar with subtle depth, shadow and blur effects.

While it may build anticipation for WhatsApp users who are still frustrated by the lack of access to the refreshed look, the update also shows that Meta is continuing to work on the visual overhaul and may be postponing a broader release until more of the app has been updated to align with the Liquid Glass design.
As is the case with beta features, especially those only referenced in code, as seems to be the case here, there is no telling when it will be officially released.
