In a perfect world, all the races you can participate in Forza Horizon 6 and its open-world take on Japan would be clean and fluid, free of hostile collisions and catastrophic annihilations. However, we do not live in a perfect world, and one force The opponent in particular seems hell-bent on making sure you can’t enjoy a race without having to worry about chaos.
That runner is none other than Bowie Knife99, one of the AI “drivatars” that you can compete against instead of real players in Force Horizon The various contests of 6. Just a week after the release of the open-world racing game, Bowie Knife99 already has a reputation in the gaming community for being a notoriously violent driver, routinely ramming and crashing into players in an effort to ensure he emerges victorious.
I mean, just look:
You can find clips like this all over social media, and most are exasperated by the lengths to which this particular AI will go to be a thorn in your side. “WHO IS HE AND WHY IS HE ALWAYS HARASSING ME?” writes KnightLewis25. “No, this is diabolical. Brother must be stopped.” says another player.
“I had a skill combo of 70,000 x 5.0 when I was hit by an AI controller. Who was it? BowieKnife99, of course.” complains Different-Scarcity80.
As expected, memes about the bowie99 knife are all over the Forza Horizon subreddit and other community hangouts right now, with players gathering to laugh at each other’s run-ins with the drivatar while simultaneously cursing its murderous tendencies.
Some, however, have comically decided that their mission is to get revenge on the bowie99 knife, sharing clips of themselves running it off the road, forcing him to crash into obstaclesand hit it with the pedal to the floor. It’s a noble pursuit of justice for Bowie’s victims, to be sure… though keep in mind that could fight back if you notice that you are getting aggressive.
All in all, I find this whole ordeal hilarious, although it has also generated a lot of discussion about the difficulty of Forza Horizon 6’s drivatars. Many players report that many races seem unwinnable on higher difficulty levels, even when using the Bowie99 knife. it’s not there trying to turn them around.
Maybe we’ll see the developer yard games adjust them in future patches; I think it’s probably the right call with all the feedback players are giving right now, although I hope the studio leaves Bowie Knife99’s behavior as is. It’s been fun to see the community come together against a common enemy and makes me wish AI opponents had this type of personality more often in racing games.
Forza Horizon 6 itself is enjoying a tremendous launch period right now. had the largest early access release of any entry in the series followed by a stellar performance on launch dayand quickly went on to attract more than 6 million players across Xbox Series|S, PC and Xbox Game Pass. At the moment, has more players on Xbox than Call of Dutywhich is quite a feat.
Have you had any run-ins with the Bowie99 knife? How did it go? Are you enjoying Forza Horizon 6 overall? Let me know below.
