To no one’s surprise, xbox and yard games‘Highly anticipated new open-world arcade racing game Forza Horizon 6 has been a great success so far, and the game enjoys excellent reviews from critics, a massive early access debutand an even bigger full release that has seen almost 300,000 players get behind the wheel simultaneously in Steam only.
The game even has a healthy look. modification scene now, with graphic and audio adjustments, ReShade presets and more live the Forza Horizon 6 section of Nexus Mods. However, there is one project in particular that stands out above the rest, as it particularly fresh in my eyes: Spotify Radioa mod that allows you to play your Spotify music through an in-game radio station.
Pretty sick, right? Unfortunately, however, you cannot download and use the mod at this time, as Nexus Mods’ algorithms “quickly quarantined” it after they flagged it as potentially dangerous. BigJohn0 says this is because Spotify Radio uses a .dll file, which is sometimes used by bad faith actors to execute malware.
Some have asked you to upload the mod on GitHub instead, but BigJohn0 has chosen not to since linking to it on Nexus would be against the site’s terms and also because they don’t want to publish the source code.
In the end, that means that Spotify Radio will likely not be available until Nexus Mods moderators manually review the mod files and verify that they are safe to use, which will hopefully happen sooner rather than later. Take a look; I’ll update this article once it’s clean.
However, once the mod is no longer locked and can be downloaded again, installation will be a very simple process. As the description on the mod page indicates, all you have to do is unzip the mod files into your Forza Horizon 6 game directory, disable Radio DJ and enable Streamer mode in-game, and connect Spotify to FH6 Radio in the app’s Connect menu (the button looks like a speaker).
Some more good news: the mod works on both Steam and Xbox on the PC versions of the game, and ought It will be completely safe to play with as it is completely client-side and does not upload any data to the Forza servers. The only downside to Spotify Radio is that it requires having a Spotify Premium membership, as you can’t use Spotify Connect without one. However, if you’re like me and already have one, that’s not a problem.
Will you use the Spotify Radio mod once you can download it? Let me know below.
