One of the highest profile console exclusives from Microsoft and Xbox in recent memory, Bethesda Game Studios‘ Colossal sci-fi space exploration RPG star fieldIt arrived on PS5 last week. Its launch on that platform was expected for a long time and many believed that it might never arrive, but days later, it seems that it is already heading to other system too.
That revelation came when a new rating for the game was spotted in Taiwan’s entertainment software rating information (you can look it up yourself). here to see it). Specifically, along with the listings of Xbox Series|S, PC and PS5the new qualification is for the nintendo switch 2.

This new rating, at the very least, has given hopeful Switch 2 owners reason to believe that a Starfield port is still in the works, though many are concerned that even if does eventually it comes out, in the end it won’t provide a good experience.
In the days after the game arrived on PS5, numerous players reported serious performance issues and crashes, leading Bethesda to claims to be working on a social media review. Switch 2 users fear that the game will run even worse on their system since it has lower performing hardware.
Still, people are hopeful for a good version of Starfield on Nintendo’s handheld console, especially since other Bethesda games have come to Switch, or are next. Skyrim launched on the platform in 2017, the anniversary edition of consequences 4 released on Switch 2 in February, and Oblivion remastered It is scheduled to arrive on Switch 2 sometime in 2026.
I suppose Starfield, with its vast world maps and space areas, would be considerably more complicated to adapt to the Switch 2 hardware compared to other Bethesda RPGs. I suppose that’s why the rumored port has been difficult to develop until now, although ultimately, that’s just speculation.
Regardless, I hope that any issues hindering the creation of a Switch 2 version can be fixed and that Starfield finally comes to Nintendo’s system. Until then, it can be played on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PS5, and the game can be accessed via Xbox Game Pass on the first two platforms.
