Google Keep on Android is making some adjustments to the FAB (floating action button) ahead of its new AI voice feature coming this summer.
Keep for Android goes from a normal sized FAB to a larger one. Tapping or holding, depending on your “Create text notes by default” setting, also reveals some changes, starting with a new opening/closing animation.
Old versus new

The FAB menu is now slightly higher on the screen. “Image” is now the first shortcut at the top, followed by “Drawing,” which gets a new icon, and then “Audio.”
The big FAB is rolling out widely today with version 5.26.222.00.90 of Google Keep for Android. Force stop Keep from the app info if you don’t see it already.

This change comes before Google Keep adds a new voice feature that lets you create notes just by speaking. Gemini takes advantage of turning your “brain dump” into organized notes and lists, and Keep can create multiple voice sessions.
Based on what Google showed us last month, the feature will be accessed from a full-sized FAB just above the “plus” button. It matches Google Drive, which has a large FAB and a regular one right above it to access the document scanner.
This new Google Keep feature will be available this summer to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers along with Gmail Live and Docs Live.
