YouTube TV’s customizable multi-view launches fully, allowing subscribers to mix any live channel, including add-ons

youtube television has introduced a fully customizable multi-view feature that allows subscribers to create their own split-screen layouts from any live content currently streaming on the platform. The rollout has begun and is expected to be available to all users in the coming weeks.

Previously, the multi-view system limited users to preselected channel packs chosen by Google. The new creator removes those restrictions, allowing users to combine channels at different subscription levels.

What’s new in YouTube TV Custom Multi View

The most notable update is the ability to combine streams across package boundaries. Subscribers with a standard YouTube TV plan and a premium add-on like NFL Sunday Ticket can now combine those streams into a single multi-view layout with no restrictions.

The creator interface features filter chips for quick navigation by category, including Recommended (which is customized based on viewing history), Sports, News, Shows, Movies, and other live content.

Current limitations of YouTube TV multi-view

Currently, Multiview only supports live content. Video on Demand and DVR recordings cannot be included in a multi-view layout. Additionally, some family-friendly content is excluded from the personalization tool. Device support is generally broad but not universal.

Google notes that less than 5 percent Most older devices lack the processing power necessary for a full customization interface. Users with those devices will still be able to access a basic multi-view creator that focuses on major events like NFL games or the World Cup, rather than offering the full channel selection tool.

When YouTube TV Custom Multiview Will Be Available to Everyone

The fully customizable multi-view feature is already rolling out and will be available to all supported YouTube TV subscribers in the coming weeks. Users with older incompatible hardware will automatically receive a limited version. This article covers the same YouTube TV multi-viewing story as previously reported.

The main update is that the feature is now confirmed to be released in full, rather than a limited rollout. Additionally, combining cross-packages, including NFL Sunday Ticket, is now explicitly confirmed. The article above can be updated with these details or used as a follow-up, once full implementation is confirmed.
