Apple has reportedly increased orders for vapor chambers, indicating that cooling technology could play a larger role in its future hardware lineup. Here are the details.
Apple doubles down on vapor chamber cooling
Digital Focus Fixed Leaker has published a post on Weibo stating that Apple has “significantly increased its total vapor chamber orders,” adding that this is “possibly in preparation for improved cooling in its first foldable iPhone and the next-generation 20th anniversary model.”
Apple first introduced vapor chamber cooling with the iPhone 17 Pro, a change that helped address thermal issues that had plagued previous models.
Vapor chambers work. evaporating a small amount of liquid near a heat source and condensing it in colder areas, spreading the heat across a larger surface area before returning the liquid to repeat the cycle.

While the Weibo post speculates that Apple’s advance is aimed at the iPhone Ultra and the rumored 20th anniversary iPhone With 2027 expected, the timing would make more immediate sense for this year’s lineup.
